About Us

Lemay Child & Family Center provides high quality early care and education for children and their families in a nurturing environment. The Center is committed to diversity, and encourages parent and community involvement.

Located in the Lemay Community of South St. Louis County, Lemay Child and Family Center has provided affordable childcare for families for nearly 30 years. All children, regardless of their family's financial situation, are welcome at our Center. As an inclusive Center, we serve many children with diagnosed physical and/or developmental delays.

We are a United Way agency. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and we are licensed by the State of Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Volunteers and community donors help to bridge the gap between what it costs us to offer high-quality, comprehensive family education services and the low fees that the families are able to pay.

Our primary programs include:

  • Early Childhood Education for children ages 2 through 5
  • School-age care for children in kindergarten through age 12
  • Family Literacy and English as Second Language for parents
  • Center-based Parents as Teachers
